Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto wants to revive the original Legend of Zelda

iheartchaos:

There have been so many Zelda games since the original Legend of Zelda game for the NES, but series creator Shigeru Miyamoto would love to revive that first Zelda game with new graphics for a new generation. Hell, they did it with Ocarina, why not the first one? I’d buy it.

Double Fine breaks Kickstarter record after raising $1M in 24 hours for their new game

iheartchaos:

Even though Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert of Double Fine are video game legends, having worked on such old school classics as Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango, point and click adventure games aren’t quite the draw they used to be. But where Double Fine couldn’t find funding for a new adventure game from traditional sources for their new game, they went to Kickstarter. And in 24 hours, they had raised $1 million, breaking fundraising records on Kickstarter.

Baconcraft of the day: It’s a Skyrim helmet made out of bacon
While I’m hoping the “making things out of bacon” thing will end soon and I’m starting to get bored with endless bits of homemade Skyrim geekery, I just couldn’t help but sharing this. This is perhaps the only helmet you should be wearing while you’re out punching dragons in the dick like a badass.

Oh right, you’ve seen some impressive shit built in Minecraft, right? Well, you haven’t seen this. And even if you have, watch it again, because this gentleman just earned a throne in geek heaven.

Kid shows off his Portal themed bedroom

First off, with a name like Vector Farr, this is like watching a kid who’s going to grow up to be some sort of heroic spaceship captain some day. And he’s got a pretty cool Portal themed bedroom. It’s not overdone, but it’s enough to fuel his imagination, and that’s bigger than any amount of props.

New Line is making a movie version of the game Rampage for some reason

iheartchaos:

Hollywood has been on a tear of making movies out of far less lately, but New Line Cinema has bought the rights to make a film from the classic arcade game, Rampage. While I think a movie about three monsters who exist only to destroy skyscrapers with their fists could be a lot of fun, I’m not sure how one would make that into an entire movie.

Hollywood: Make a movie about monsters.

FOCUS SOLEY ON THE HUMAN LEADS.

I think that would sum it up nicely.

Fun Skyrim bugs: A horse riding a dragon

I don’t know exactly how this happened, but a guy buys a horse for 1000 gold at about 3 hours in, approaches a dragon for a brawl and the horse gets swept up, riding on the dragon’s back. Those fucking horses, can’t trust ‘em… they’ll side with dragons every time.

That Studio Ghibli game, Ni No Kuni: The White Sacred Ash is coming to America

We showed a trailer for Ni No Kuni before, possibly this same one, but I never actually expected that it would be coming to North American shores, but it is. The game is the first developed by Studio Ghibli, and is hoping to have the same sort of feel of a Studio Ghibli movie, only on an interactive level.

Ni No Kuni is coming to the PS3 some time next year.

God this game is so beautiful…
